Course History
The original Bonita Golf Club was founded in
"Old Bonita" in 1954. In 1981, due to development of Plaza Bonita, the course relocated just east into the peaceful valley where it resides today; No one complained.
The views of Mt. Miguel and open fields make BGC a truly special place. The mantra, "home of the happy golfer" made a natural transition from "Old Bonita" to "New Bonita" and the rest is history.
Course Design
Designed by William F. Bell, Bonita Golf Club offers a rich history of great golf to visiting and local enthusiasts alike. Our 6,200 yard long, par 71 golf course is ideal for golfers of every level as three sets of tees let any group or family enjoy. Our scenic tree-dotted course crossed by the Sweetwater River is easy to walk and fun to ride. Holes ranging from the risk-reward double water hazard # 18 (487) to the challenging Par 4 #3 (425) are just hints of variety. The greens are generally average sized and firmness with good consistency.
